New cars to spot in summer 2016

2017 R8 V10 Coupe

Right now, we’re in the middle of auto show season. Detroit Auto Show was in January, Canadian International Auto Show was in February, and Geneva was in early March. Because of all of these shows, we have seen a very high amount of new cars not just announced, but finally making national debuts in different countries.

With all of the exciting new cars being announced and launched, we wanted to build a preview for which ones we expect to see driving around Canada!

New Audi R8 V10 Plus

This car has been hyped up for a long time! After the long wait and it’s Canadian autoshow debut at CIAS 2016, customers will start receiving their new R8s this spring. The new Audi R8 V10 is a magnificent car with superb technology, hopefully causing many people to purchase it. While the looks do take some getting used to, it looked incredible to finally see it in person at CIAS this year. This will definitely be a nice car to see on the roads across the country.

Bentley Bentayga

The most expensive production SUV on the Canadian market, the Bentley Bentayga. This luxurious SUV takes 130 hours to assemble by hand, has 600 horsepower, and goes 0-100 km/h in four seconds. Some American customers will start receiving their Bentayga this March, and we can expect the Canadian market to follow soon. While it’s not the craziest-looking exotic, we hope to see these on Canadian roads this summer.

The Huracan 580-2 is 100% Lamborghini — a naturally aspirated engine with high (580) horsepower and rear wheel drive. This powerful combination not only makes for a mean track car, but also a fun car for driving around some secluded roads. This hopefully becomes a very popular car not only because of it’s beauty for car spotting, but also so Lamborghini keeps building RWD cars.

McLaren 570S

The McLaren 570S is their lowest-tier model available right now. Don’t take that with a grain of salt though as it is still a very powerful car. This small sports coupe has a wild 562hp pushing it to a top speed of 328 km/h (204 mph) with a 0-100 km/h time of 3.1 seconds. The 570S is built with a carbon fiber tub just like like 650S and P1, making it highly competitive in its price range of ~200,000 CAD.

Ferrari 488 GTB

488spider

Ferraris 458 replacement, the 488 GTB is a turbocharged mid engine V8 supercar. This game-changing car will be in Toronto for the summer both as a coupe and a spider. Very few customer models have arrived in Canada so far, but there should be many 488s by the time we have our hot summer days.

Convertibles

While these are not exactly new models, there will be a lot of convertible versions of new models that we will see driving around. These models include the Lamborghini Huracan 610-4 Spyder, Aventador SV Roadster, Rolls-Royce Dawn (essentially a drophead Ghost), and the McLaren 675LT Spider.

With the amount of new cars coming to Canada, this year’s spots should be incredible and unique.
